Teaching with Technology

- Wikis
A wiki is a web application that allows users to add content, as on an Internet forum, but also allows anyone to edit the content. Wiki also refers to the collaborative software used to create such a website. This presentation is a brief summary on wikis.

Twiki is a structured wiki, typically used to run a collaboration platform, knowledge or document management system, a knowledge base, or any other shared application - it can also be used to run a blog. The Discussion tool allows you to create topics relevant to the course where users enrolled in the course can post and reply to messages. The students have the option of posing questions, engaging in a discussion, and from the instructor vantage point solicit feedback and ideas. Section Instructors can assign grades for participation, just as they would in a classroom course. This presentation outlines the use of the “Discussion” tool.
